SAP CALCULATIONS
At KAMA BSD we have experienced accredited SAP assessors, On Construction Domestic Energy Assessors (OCDEA) and Domestic Energy Assessors (DEA). A SAP assessment is required to prove compliance with current Building Regulations Part L1A and 1B ADL We are qualified to carry out these Part L compliance calculations on— - Residential—All New Homes, Conversions and Extensions (OCDEA)
In 2016 Part L was updated again with even more rigorous targets set. It is now even more important that you have robust, professional advice on how to meet these regulations in the optimal, cost effective way. Cost Control We can provide budgetary costs for the services elements and monitoring the costs against the original budgets as the design develops.
This enables suitable action to be taken prior to any major cost commitment.
Similarly we are able to validate services valuations and variation values during the course of the work, together with resolution of the services contractors’ final accounts.
Value Engineering We undertake value engineering investigations during the course of design preparation to ensure that the design and installation is “good value”. This process optimizes the services design to achieve the project objectives, whether investigating our own designs or designs by others and independent assessors.
Regulations & Planning
Building Regulations We provide advice on compliance with all Approved Documents, including Part L - Conservation of Fuel and Power, and Part F - Ventilation. We also liaise with Building Control to ensure compliance.
The use of Dynamic Thermal Simulation and building modelling software to prove compliance with the new Part L is increasingly important. We use approved software to prove compliance with Part L2 and SAP calculations for Part L1.
